birthday getaway

Yes, I know, another birthday post. I really think this is the last.

I flew home to spend some time with my fam the day after my birthday. I was not prepared for the cold weather up in the PNW-How fast I've grown accustomed to sunny CA. It was a very relaxing trip with some shopping and lots of seafood eating.

There were birthday balloons ALL over the house! Even tied to my bed posts! When I innocently asked, "Are these for me?" my dad replied, "mm hmmm." And after a few seconds I realized the balloons were left from my mom's birthday {nine days before mine}. Nice try, dad.

I got to spend a whole day with my aunt Karen! {forgot to take a pic, so we took this one later}. It was so nice to just sit and chat, burn cook artichokes and look at the 800+ pics on my camera. Thanks for spending the day with me aunt Karen!

Every time I'm home it seems we try to do so many things that I never have time to do this one thing I've been asking to do for years BUT this time we made it happen.

This is some of my grandmother's jewelry. If you've ever noticed my right hand ring {some people ask about it}, it was hers. Although we didn't find the box my mom was looking for, we still found some really cool things. I was a junior in high school when my mom's mom passed away and my narrow minded teenage brain just wasn't sure what it was I wanted to keep to remember her by. I'm so glad my mom hung on to her jewelry for me, because now I get to remember my grandma every day.

So that meant these two were stuck with me a little bit longer.

Thanks Mom & Dad for a great birthday trip!
