Flat Stanley has some terrific oral hygiene. Not one cavity.
we always look forward to general conference weekend. it helps us to refocus our priorities and to set goals for our family. this is such a special time when we can listen to our prophet and his apostles and truly feel the love of Jesus Christ.after conference on Saturday night we met up with some friends for a little night out.
i'd have to say the best part of our meals {me + russell} was the mozzarella sticks. we did the 2 for $20 deal and neither of us loved our food. but i think everyone else loved theirs!
i'm not sure if brady really knew if his dish was good or not. why? because this was the only bite he took!!! I tell you, if the whole world ate like he does, we would be so thin. but in his defense, he did share the boneless wing appetizer with jamie.

Russell and I had the privilege of being parents for twenty four hours to these little darlings.
Sara & Stewart decided it would be fun to ditch us with their kids while they went out and played-ha-just kidding-we happily watched them so Sara & Stewart could celebrate their eight year anniversary!!!
We start the night off by going to the hot tub. Which ends up being a cold tub. So we play in the bath instead.
8:30 pm. All little ones are tucked in bed.
We read two books, say prayers and sing two songs.
No fuss. No crying. Just perfect little children.
10:00 pm. Russell and I are watching a movie, and Kate {the baby} wakes up. So I get her out of her crib and let her chill with us for a few minutes, then put her back down without a peep.
12:00 am. We go to bed. Kate's crib however is in the same room right next to Russell's side of the bed. With every grunt or sigh, I poke Russell and say, "is she ok?"
1:00 am. Kate starts crying. I frantically leap over Russell. Her binky has fallen out, like I thought. I put it back in, she spits it out and cries harder. So I pick her up {I later learned this was a big mistake}, and cradle her in bed. Russell is also awake. She gets sleepy and closes her eyes. She seems to be asleep. From my nanny days, I knew exactly what would happen when I reached my arms out to put her carefully back in the crib-yet I did it anyway.
The screaming. The crying. Continues. Harder this time. She looks at me like, 'you are not my mom!' I tell myself: no big deal. I know how to take care of a baby, how to soothe a baby, I got this.
We walk, we bounce, we rock, we swaddle.
We change her diaper. We try a bottle.
More screaming.
I then pass her to Russell and say: your turn!
After a few minutes I ask for her back. We continually trade off for two hours.
Somewhere in the middle of all this, Russell says, "We are never doing this again." Looking back, that really makes me laugh.
Finally Russell just puts her back in her crib and says, just let her cry {in a loving way}. So we lay on the bed. Kate is standing on hers. Standing. Gripping the bars and screaming a blood curdling scream. This goes on for three minutes. She then throws herself down on the bed, gives a few wimpers and is fast asleep.
7:00 am. I'm listening for Bree & Ally, but they're still asleep. Kate however is as happy as can be. All smiles. Like last night never happened.
Fast forward. Oh look, it's lunch. And some of us, are still in our pajamas. Oh no, just me.
When you're this messy, it's better to go topless.
We make yummy sugar cookies, with Bree's special food coloring on top! And cute Happy Anniversary notes to hang on the front door!We play kitchen, house and doctor. I'd have to say watching Russell in a little girls hat and apron, speaking with an Italian accent may be one funniest things I've ever seen. I have never seen him do anything like that and it was seriously so good!Twenty four hours later, Sara and Stewart come through the door! We tell them of our fun and eventful time and we laugh. A lot. It's a good thing we love these kids so much!{and Sara, in case you're wondering, yes we will watch your kids again, someday}.
Yes, I know, another birthday post. I really think this is the last.I flew home to spend some time with my fam the day after my birthday. I was not prepared for the cold weather up in the PNW-How fast I've grown accustomed to sunny CA. It was a very relaxing trip with some shopping and lots of seafood eating.
There were birthday balloons ALL over the house! Even tied to my bed posts! When I innocently asked, "Are these for me?" my dad replied, "mm hmmm." And after a few seconds I realized the balloons were left from my mom's birthday {nine days before mine}. Nice try, dad.
Out for a we slept way too late morning walk with my dad.
@ Chopsticks for lunch
the best spring rolls i've ever had.
I got to spend a whole day with my aunt Karen! {forgot to take a pic, so we took this one later}. It was so nice to just sit and chat, burn cook artichokes and look at the 800+ pics on my camera. Thanks for spending the day with me aunt Karen!
I used this A LOT {i was cold, rememember?}
mmm raspberry cheesecake hot chocolateEvery time I'm home it seems we try to do so many things that I never have time to do this one thing I've been asking to do for years BUT this time we made it happen.
This is some of my grandmother's jewelry. If you've ever noticed my right hand ring {some people ask about it}, it was hers. Although we didn't find the box my mom was looking for, we still found some really cool things. I was a junior in high school when my mom's mom passed away and my narrow minded teenage brain just wasn't sure what it was I wanted to keep to remember her by. I'm so glad my mom hung on to her jewelry for me, because now I get to remember my grandma every day.

My parents goofing off with my aunt and uncle.I was supposed to spend my last day and a half with these crazy girls...
{picture from Christmas 2010}But Kylee had a terrible flu :( So that meant these two were stuck with me a little bit longer.
{wish i could remember what was so funny}.Thanks Mom & Dad for a great birthday trip!
