A Tree

I've always been one to play Christmas music before Thanksgiving, sometimes even the day after Halloween. But this year I am very anti-pre-thanksgiving christmas things, and I think I've finally figured out why. For the past 6 years I lived in Utah where it usually snows on Halloween so by this time of year it feels like Winter, not Fall. And Winter of course means CHRISTMAS! But here in California it's not cold and it doesn't feel like Winter and for the first time in a long time I am really looking forward to a Thanksgiving holiday that isn't just in the way of my Christmas spirit. I have no desire to listen to Christmas music but I'm terribly excited to once Thanksgiving has had it's day in the sun, not the snow.

And although I may have started Christmas festivities earlier in the past, I would NEVER ever, ever put up a Christmas tree before Thanksgiving, never. {We have some friends that do though and so, to each his own}.

But when you prank me and prop a Christmas tree against my door so that it falls on me when I open it, I take it hostage.

This beauty is now snuggled nicely in the corner of my bedroom {no lights on of course}.

ps. a lot of pranking goes on around here

That's hilarious. I know how you feel though, my family keeps trying to plan for Christmas and I am like why? It's still warm, Christmas isn't even close to being here. haha! Ya, right, it's like right around the corner - I just cannot get into it when it is still 70-80 degrees here.

That tree looks an awful lot like the one we helped the Lukers move into their house a couple of months ago...just sayin...

Don't listen, Mandy. I have mine in my storage unit as proof that I was not involved!

By the way, cheers for not celebrating Christmas until after Thanksgiving! Let's give 'the grateful holiday' a little respect, eh.
