Ellen Day 2 {scroll & read Day 1 first}

After getting home that night and spilling all the details to Russell, we start a whirlwind Day 2.

So after madly texting my family I started madly reading the book. Russell decided he wanted to go with me if Brady would go with Jamie. All obliged and we were set to go the next day. I honestly did not think I was going to be asking Portia a question on the show, I just figured we got to be special guests for the show and that was that. Well, I was sure wrong. I remember texting my mom saying, 'I can't get away from these people.' A woman pulled me aside and we discussed what I thought of the book and what questions I may have for Portia. They took my picture and sent me back to our group. They also talked to several of our friends that had been asked to read the book too. This woman ends up talking to me a lot and we hone in on one question I would really ask her. Being a dietitian I posed my question from a professional standpoint. She really liked it and said she'd talk to me again later in the show. So by now we are seated and just dancing, being stupid and having fun! Then this little MC guy who pumps you up before the show and during the commercials comes to me and says, "Do you want to dance on stage?" I said, "ME?" I then my legs just followed him. I asked Russell later that night what was going through his mind as I walked down to the floor and he said, "I was thinking there was NO way you were going to do it. I just kept saying there's no way she'll do it, there's no way." And then I DID! I was the first dancer on the floor and so everyone was cheering and laughing and was finally making a fool of myself.

So later in the show {two shows were actually taped that day, Taylor Swift & part of Portia's} the woman came and pulled me backstage. Backstage: looked a lot like backstage of a theatre. She wanted to change my question. I was no longer allowed to say I was a registered dietitian and blah blah. I agreed, it wasn't that big of a deal. She then told me I was the first to ask a question, AHHH. She hugged me, seeing the fear in my eyes. She then said, "You're going to be great. Are you kidding me, we all watched you dancing earlier." Oh yay, Ellen watched me make a fool of myself.

So after a lot of nerves and reassuring leg squeezes from Russell I asked Portia my question. And to preface this clip, NO I have not gained ten pounds {Russell even said my face looked chubbier}. I can't believe that camera had the nerve to add ten pounds to me! And NO I was not emotional even though my voice sounds very emotional.

My 15 seconds of fame.

Mandy, we loved seeing you on TV! I guess if we can't see you guys in Provo, Ellen will have to do! Sounds like you had fun.

Mandy, you're so cute! And I don't think you look chubby at all!!! That's kind of dumb they wouldn't let you say you were a registered dietitian :) But that's so fun; good job!
