a white coat.

It is now official. Russell's white coat ceremony was last Friday. What a proud day for us both. So many of you shared in our rough journey to this point and we are so grateful for all of the positive thoughts and prayers on our behalf. THANK YOU!

When the Dean spoke he told the parents what a proud moment this should be for them and how this was truly a day of accomplishment. I like to think he was also speaking to all of the wives present, who have also sacrificed, stressed and shed sweat and tears for their husbands.

The Dean also spoke on the significance of the 'white coat.' It is not a coat of entitlement; it is a heavy coat of responsibility.

i wonder what that oath says. I will keep my teeth extremely white and clean. I promise to give laughing gas to all my patients and to always have a fish tank in my office.

You know they give us these white coats for starting dental school but really they should give us them at the end when we are actual doctors. Either way, we don't ever really where them at our school. So hopefully yours gets a little more clinic time and less closet time than mine does. But since you are in California you can always use it as a beach coverup if needed.

Yeah Russell and Mandy! I agree that the wives have to sacrifice too. When Evan graduated I told him his MBA is mine too :)

So awesome! We are so excited for you guys. We know what it is like to hit the milestones and feel like you are actually getting somewhere. We hope to see you soon! We leave Arizona on Saturday the 11th and will arrive in CA that night. We will come down to his parents and want to get together! You would love playing with Abby!

Russell looks so good in that coat that I hope that one day he will be my dentist.
