Reminiscing of Europe

When I played soccer in Europe in high school my team was befriended by a Polish boys team. We met them at the Paris Cup! I still remember playing and seeing them line the pitch, hitting their fists on the ground and yelling USA USA! It seriously was the coolest site to see and hear. When we left Paris to go play in the Holland Cup they went back to Poland but we exchanged emails with the ones we were close to. I remember emailing one of them for awhile and he even sent a Christmas card to my house a couple years ago. Well anyway, my point is that he emailed me the other day and I randomly checked my junk mail and recognized his name. He wasn't sure if he had my email right so I replied and told him that it was me...this is his response, it's pretty funny.
"oh!! great.. it`s you! What`s new about me? I still play football, y for you is soccer :P and i work in a club of course - soccer club! I`m not married, not yet, but i hope,because i have lov sweety! :) Greating for your husband!I have foto with you, from france! If i found it i will send. it was great team! Mandy.. hm.. i`m happy, that you got this email. I think so, we may send some messages, sometimes. You live in Utah, i know that in Utah is Jazz :P You sill play soccer?

Russell and I got a good laugh but I think it's pretty neat that he remembers me after all these years! He still has a picture of us too and he actually emailed it to me...please refrain from laughing as I look ridiculous!

A Busy Saturday....

What an eventful day we had today! Waking up before 7 on my only day to sleep in doesn't sound like fun but it was....Russell played basketball this morning with his friends and I worked out, then cleaned the house and worked on my lesson for tomorrow....But the best part was going to the mall. Yes it's true, Russell let me go shopping! We made a deal though-in case you don't know, where I work it's all commission and Russell told me that if I could make 12 sales in a week that I could go and buy a new shirt. I laughed at him when he told me this 2 weeks ago because my goal every week is 10 and sometimes I just don't make it. But not only did I get 12 this week, but I had 13 sales! What a great feeling it was. I tried to convince Russell to go with me but he ended up going and playing basketball again with some other friends haha. I talked with my mom most of the time I shopped and she can attest that I'm not the same shopper I used to be. At first I couldn't find a thing I liked and when I could only get one shirt it had to be perfect. But eventually I found it at Nordy's-no surprise there. It's lime green and I tried to find it online but it's not up so when I wear it I'll have to post a pic. I ran into some old friends at the mall too! Shout outs to Kevin and Nicole! Our day didn't end there though, we babysat for Bryan and Jerilyn too. We love their boys Taylor and Hayden and are grateful to have them as friends...and now we're home listening to the BYU game and writing my lesson. All in all a great day...hope yours was too! XOXO

Ps. I love you

On President's Day, Russell and I went to see Ps. I Love You. My mom had told me how good it was and that I needed to bring a tissue. I laughed and thought 'ok, sure mom.' But oh boy was she right! I cried the entire movie and the whole way to the grocery store after! And then I preceded to tell Russell how he is not allowed to die unless I die too....If you haven't seen the movie, I highly suggest it. It definitely reminded me of how much I love Russell and how truly amazing he is. We'll never know when our time here is through so it's so important to not stress the petty things in life and to always say I love you.....Ps. I love you Russell

Sweet Lil Abby

We went to Ogden to spend time with Jen and Matt and of course, baby Abby!She's soooo soo tiny, it's unbelievable. It literally felt like I was only holding a blanket...and then we unwrapped her and saw how small she really is. It was a great visit and we can't wait to watch her grow up.

Chef's Table

Unbelievable, I know! This was an assignment for my NDFS 445 class-each group was assigned a restaurant to critique and we went to the Chef's Table. What an experience...the hostess put my napkin on my lap for me lol. The food was amazing and the chef even came to every table to make sure the food was delicious. We also celebrated Jenny and Katie's birthdays so that was fun too, as they gave us two free desserts!

Baby Abby's Here!

It's been requested that I add new pictures...unfortunetly I don't have any! But Matt and Jen sure do! Abigail Amanda Garrett was born February 10th and is the baby Matt and Jen are adopting. We are so happy for them and can't wait to see baby Abby later this week!
